<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing unit that can conduct edge enhancement with less effect of a noise component. SOLUTION: SUB 14a, 15a, 16a of a vertical direction processing circuit 3a calculate a difference of image data of 4 pixels adjacent each other in a vertical direction and change each difference on the basis of the magnitude of the difference and its sign. Then the circuit 3a generates image data by 4 pixels by using each revised difference. Furthermore, SUB 14b, 15b, 16b of a horizontal direction processing circuit 3b calculate a difference of image data of 4 pixels adjacent each other in a horizontal direction and change each difference on the basis of the magnitude of the difference and its sign. Then the circuit 3b generates image data by 4 pixels by using each revised difference.</p> |
