The invention relates to telecommunications and is used to transmit discrete information by means of noise-like signals. On the transmitter side, a noise-like signal is formed as a sequence of short video pulses; on the receiver side, the signal is received with the noise. After the processing of the signal received, a decision is taken with respect to the transmitted message. The video pulses formed on the transmitter side differ by sign, amplitude and/or time position, with a low pulse period-to-pulse duration ratio, which is about one. The signal modulation on the transmitter side and the signal processing on the receiver side are effected by means of matched filtering. The communication device contains a message source, a transmitting and a receiving wideband antennas, a master oscillator and a modulator on the transmitter side, a monitoring and synchronization system, a demodulator and an output section on the transmitter side, whereby the monitoring and synchronization system represents a delay line. The invention makes it possible to reach the theoretical limit of the information transmission rate by means of electromagnetic waves, amounting to 10 Gb/sec in the Earth' atmosphere. |
