PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination imaging apparatus for obtaining an image capable of detecting the omitted part of a label without being affected by the color of the label. SOLUTION: An illumination imaging apparatus for taking the image of a PET bottle 1 and subjecting the same to image processing to detect the omitted part 2a of a label 2 consists of a diffusion light source for illuminating the PET bottle 1 laterally, a CCD camera 4 for taking the image of the label 2 on the side opposite to the diffusion light source 3 and the filter 5 provided to the inlet of the CCD camera 4 and diffusion light is infrared rays and the filter 5 is a visual light cutting filter.
