PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage treating device contributing to the maintaining once of the heating of a thermal catalyst and cooling of an exhaust to the outside of the device by controlling heat transfer in a deodorization and exhaustion part. SOLUTION: This garbage treating device is provided with a treating part S for biologically decomposing garbage, a recovery part K for recovering biologically decomposed matter and a deodorization and exhaustion part D for removing a malodor from the treating part S or recovery part K and exhausting the gas. Further, a heating body 77 and a thermal catalyst 76 are arranged in a deodorization case of the deodorization and exhaustion part D in this order toward a downstream side of an exhaust passage from an upstream side, a heat liberating material 93 is set on the upstream side of the body 77, a heat absorbing material 94 is arranged on the downstream side of the catalyst 76, and the heat liberating material 93 is thermally connected to the heat absorbing material 94.
