PURPOSE: A content locking method for a hard disc is provided to additionally maintain the basic information required for the operation of a system to an external record storing medium for preventing the system from operating when a third party wants to operate the system, thereby preventing the disclosing or loss of data stored in the system. CONSTITUTION: A content locking method for a hard disc includes the steps of copying basic information required for operating a system and stored to a hard disc to an external portable record storing medium as a system-off signal is input while operating the system(S11-S13), turning off the system after deleting the basic information in the hard disc as the copy is completed(S14,S15), copying content locking basic information data of the portable record storing medium to the hard disc when a system-on signal is input after the portable record storing medium is installed in the system while the system is turned off, and carrying out content locking by using the copied basic information data as the copy is completed.
