PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stepping motor whose positioning accuracy is stabilized and whose power can be saved by a method wherein exciting magnetic poles which are excited by coils are installed, and nonexciting magnetic poles which are arranged in the target stop position of a magnet rotor between the exciting magnetic poles and which are not excited are installed. SOLUTION: For example, coils A are electrified, an exciting magnetic pole 2 is excited to be an S-pole, and an exciting magnetic pole 3 is excited to be an N-pole. Coils B are excited, the stop position of a magnet rotor 1 is indicated in a state that an exciting magnetic pole 4 is excited to be an S-pole, and that an exciting magnetic pole 5 is excited to be an N-pole. Then in this position, the magnet rotor 1 is attracted by nonexciting magnetic poles 6, 7 in their target stop positions (in equal-interval positions between the exciting magnetic poles), and it corrects the stop position. When the electrification of the coils A, B is turned off (a state that all the magnetic poles 2, 3, 4, 5 are not excited), the magnet rotor 1 is attracted by the nonexciting magnetic poles 6, 7, and it maintains the stop position without being moved from the stop position in an exciting operation. As a result, the positioning accuracy of this stepping motor is stabilized, and the power of the stepping motor can be saved. |
