PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correctly connect a stack to a pipe joint and to reliably achieve a normal waterproof function at a connection portion by providing an inward drawn taper section generating a centripetal action toward the axis of a main body section for the end section of the inserted stack on the opening inner periphery of the tubular main body section. SOLUTION: This packing 1 is made of rubber as a raw material and has a tubular main body section 2. The main body 2 is provided with an inlet formation section 11 with an inner diameter d1 slightly larger than the outer diameter of a stack 10 at a portion near the opening end for the socket 4 of a pipe joint 3. An inward drawn taper section 18, i.e., made larger in diameter on the opening end side and smaller toward the depth, is provided at an opening inner edge section near the inlet formation section 11. Even if eccentricity occurs when the stack 10 is inserted into the pipe joint 3, the center of the stack 10 and the center of the pipe joint 3 are necessarily aligned, thus resulting in correct connection.
