Method to improve viral infection

摘要

A method to increase gene transfer to many mammalian cell types is described. Positively charged surfaces are used to adhere/concentrate retroviral particles which effectively increases the multiplicity of infection and eliminates the need for coating the dishes with fibronectin or its fragments. This novel approach has proven effective on mouse and rat fibroblasts, human leukemic cell lines and primary normal cord blood cells capable of repopulating NOD/SCID mice, suggesting its utility for a wide range of clinical and basic applications.
