PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stator coil for rotary electric machine having an electric insulating layer of the coil end connecting portion which does not generate leakage of resin material at the time of thermosetting process. SOLUTION: A stator coil 1 is provided, against the related art, with a coil end portion 11 using an electric insulation layer 2 and an interposed layer 3. The electric insulating layer 2 is formed by repeatedly overlapping a glass tape material processed with a prepleg epoxy resin material around the connecting portion 93 of a core wire 91, while the intermediating layer 3 is formed by providing a glass fiber mat material processed with the prepleg epoxy resin material between the electric insulating layers 2. In the stage where the formation of the electric insulating layer 2 and interposed layer 3 against all connecting portions 93, the thermosetting process is performed to the electric insulating layer 2 and intermediating layer 3.
