PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bright coating material composition capable of providing a bright coating film exhibiting multicolor properties and assuming a bright feeling by interference and coloring properties. SOLUTION: This bright coating material composition comprises a vehicle and a mica pigment coated with a metal complex compound comprising two or more kinds of metal elements. In the composition, at least one kind of the above two or more kinds of the metal elements is preferably a color developing metal element selected from the group consisting of Co, Ni, Fe, Mn, Cu, Cr, V, Na and W.
