IMAGE PICKUP DEVICE AND VIDEO SIGNAL PROCESSING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a device realizing a sufficient function without using one line memory by generating a control signal for reading an optional pixel at an optional speed by a random access type image pickup element. SOLUTION: A control signal generating part 3 supplies an image pickup element clock frequency having three times as large frequency as a clock frequency to a random access type image pickup element 1. The output of the element 1 is digitized by an AD converter (A/D) 2 and inputted to a line separation part 4. The part 4 obtains three separated signals whose phases are sifted from each other by one period of the image pickup element clock frequency. These separated signals undergo timing adjustment and then are inputted to a vertical outline emphasizing signal generating part 5. The element 1, the part 3 and the part 4 are provided and the element 1 is read and separated by a prescribed clock frequency to easily obtain the video signal for three lines at the same time.
