PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coating material excellent in wax impregnating ability, an electrical characteristic for a dip coating material, a curing and shrinking property, workability and handling easiness. SOLUTION: This composition for electrical insulating coating containing a thermosetting resin and a filler as essential components is characterized by including a resol-type phenol resin and a novolak-type phenol resin as the thermosetting resin, and comprising 5-20 wt.% thermosetting resin based on the whole composition. Preferably the thermosetting resin comprises 10-50 wt.% resol resin and 50-90 wt.% novolak resin.
