PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic image forming condition adjusting method and an image forming condition stabilizing method for forming a stable image without causing an abnormal image such as the image with white spots and black spots, irrespective of fluctuation of a gap distance, a variance by product and various kinds of characteristic fluctuation due to environment and the using ages, as for a non-contact developing system. SOLUTION: A latent image is formed on a toner carrier by exposing based on a test pattern (S61). The latent image is developed by an AC voltage having a small amplitude Vpp by which influence of a gap distance Ds is easily given (S62), then, density is detected (S63). The gap distance Ds is obtained based on the detected density (S64), amplitude Vpp of the voltage of an applying means is adjusted so as to be in an area free from occurrence of the uneven image density and spots (S65). Besides, a waveform central value of the AC voltage is adjusted based on the gap distance Ds or the amplitude Vpp so as to obtain the intended solid density. |
