PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device for paper sheets bundle and its processing method which improve the reliability and throughput by securely separating the band and paper sheets without damaging the band, not to mention the paper sheets, even if the band and paper sheets are adhered together. SOLUTION: The processing device is equipped with a main conveyance path 3 for conveying a bundle P of tickets as paper sheets bundled with a crossed band O, a passing mechanism 20 which is arranged at one sided part across the main conveyance path at right angles to its conveyance direction and presses the bundle of tickets against the other sides part, a reception part 24 which is arranged at the other side part opposite the pressing direction and receives only the part other than the band and then swells and deforms a band part without receiving the band part, and a high-pressured air nozzle 25 which jets high-pressured air to the gap between the swelled and deformed band and a ticket bundle part which has small swell deformation to peel the contacting paper sheets bundle and band off each other.
