PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate high quality image data by providing an offset correcting value generating part with a drift curve for previously regulating the tempera ture drift caused by the rise of the temperature of a reading part. SOLUTION: An offset correcting value generating part 4 is provided with a drift curve 5 to compare/collate a black reference reading output value 7 obtained by reading black reference in a reading part 2 with the curve 5. With the value 7, its position at the drift curve 5 is detected and the part 2 estimates a drift quantity matched with a time to read an original along the curve 5 in order to generate a drift component correcting value 9. The part 4 prescribes a drift point at the curve 5 with an offset voltage level calculated by the output value 7 to obtain the energizing time at the part 2. Next, prescribing of the drift point is made possible by referring to a passing time from a time obtained by reading black reference at the beginning.
