PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the marked line tracing apparatus in a tensile tester capable of measuring the degree of elongation of a test piece easily and accurately by a simple structure without being accompanied by a complicated structure and complicated operation by substituting the expanse of the interval between grasping arms accompanied by the elongation of the test piece with the linear movement of one measuring wire to detect to same as the linear moving quantity of the wire by a wire movement detection part. SOLUTION: In the marked line tracing apparatus in a tensile tester grasping the marked line parts at two places of a test piece by a pair of grasping arms to measure the degree of elongation of the test piece, the intermediate part of a measuring wire 8 is trained over the arm pulleys 4, 5 of the grasping arms 1, 2 and one end thereof is fixed to the fixing part 9 of the apparatus and the other end thereof is connected to the wire movement detection part 6 provided to the apparatus in a freely movable manner and the movement of the measuring wire 8 accompanied by the elongation of the test piece P is detected.
