PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To print on the whole surface of a recording medium by forming printing data for whole surface printing. SOLUTION: In a host computer 1000, when a paper size is selected and a whole surface printing item is selected by a user, the paper size is obtained in order to obtain the size of printing data and printable size larger than an actual paper size by the error quantity generated in a printer 2000 is calculated and the inclusion relation between paper and a printable region is displayed. Printing data is formed on the basis of the calculated printable size to inform the printer 2000 that whole surface printing is performed to transmit the printing data. When the printer 2000 receives the information of whole surface printing from the host computer 1000, a printing start position for whole surface printing is controlled and whole surface printing is performed on the basis of the received printing data.
