PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container wherein a make-up material stored therein can be prevented from falling down. SOLUTION: In a container for a bar-shaped make-up material wherein a medium setting member is put into and taken out of the container using a drive means, the medium setting member comprises a first and second setting members 11, 12 movable relative to each other and a third setting member which directly holds the make-up material adapted to be fitted in the member 11. A stopper is provided for each of these members for the movement in an axial direction relative to the members 11, 12 and the third/first members, and if required, the stopper between the first and second members 11, 12 is released to make the movement of one of the members different from that of the other member. Further, in a replaceable make-up material container wherein a mechanism is provided to release a stopper between the third setting member and the first setting member, a valve 15 which can be opened from the horizontal direction to the upward direction is provided at the forward end of the member 12.
