GLASS FIBER-REINFORCED POLYMER COMPOSITION

PURPOSE: Provided is a glass fiber-reinforced polymer composition, which is useful in the manufacture of molded articles, such as automotive parts, appliances and motor housings, and gives a desirable balance of stiffness and impact strength at reasonable cost. CONSTITUTION: The composition comprises; (a) 40 to 95 wt% of a propylene polymer material grafted in a solid state with a styrenic polymer (i) and further containing ungrafted styrenic polymer (ii), wherein the total concentration of the styrenic monomers added during the grafting reaction of the propylene polymer material is about 50 to about 200 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the propylene polymer material; and (b) 5 to about 60% of glass fibers treated with an organosilane compound.
