PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current fuse element, capable of fully achieving lead elimination of a fuse element with a wire diameter of 100μmϕ. SOLUTION: A fuse element main body 1 comprises an Au alloy having a melting point in the range of 260 deg.C to 400 deg.C such as Au-20Sn, Au-3, 14Si, Au-12Ge, or Bi, or a Zn alloy such as Zn-5Al. A covering 2 of a metal superior in toughness then the metal of the fuse element main body 1 is provided on the fuse element main body 1, and the thickness of the covering 2 is from 1% to 30% of an outer diameter of the covering 2.
