PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin capable of providing a resin solution excellent in transparency without damaging the properties of a coating membrane, such as fouling resistance, water-repellency and nontacky properties by radially copolymerizing a specific polyorganosiloxane with a vinylic compound. SOLUTION: The objective resin is obtained by radically copolymerizing (A) a polyorganosiloxane of the formula (R1 to R5 are each a 1-20C alkyl or the like; R6 is H, a 1-5C alkyl or the like; (m) and (n) are each 0 or an integer of >=1; X is a 2-20C divalent alkylene; Y is OCH2CH2 or the like; (p) is an integer of >=3; and Z is a 1-20X divalent alkylene), and having 500-100,000 weight average molecular weight, with (B) a vinylic compound. The resultant resin has a main chain of a vinylic polymer, and a side chain of polyorganosiloxane bonded to a polyoxyalkylene group, contains 0.1-20 wt.% component A based on the whole amount of the used monomer, and has 5,000-200,000 weight average molecular weight.
