PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of macropores at the time of producing a piezoelectric element, to reduce unevenness in mechanical strength and to enhance the min. strength. CONSTITUTION:When piezoelectric starting materials are uniformly mixed and a compact is formed from the resulting powdery starting material and sintered to produce a piezoelectric element, granular silica of <=0.1mum average particle diameter is uniformly dispersed in the compact by 0.02-0.1wt.% before sintering. This fine silica inhibits pores from growing to macropores. |
