PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material feed device of a press machine which performs a releasing action in following a high speed press machine, is not strongly hit into a band like material and a roll for fixing so as not to damage the material/device. SOLUTION: The device is provided with an opening electromagnet 50 which attracts a moving piece 54 of a moving side roll 20 with magnet force and separates a material from the moving side roll 20, when the moving side roll 20 is pressed to a fixed side roll 10, the material held between both rolls is fed into a press machine by rotation of both rolls 10, 20, and a pilot pin of the press machine is entered into a positioning hole pierced to the material. A closing electromagnet 40 is mounted as facing the opening electromagnet 50, the moving piece 54 of the moving side roll 20 is attracted by the magnet force of the closing electromagnet 40, the material is held by the moving side roll 20.
