PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clean an electrode by using an electrical pulse impressing method. SOLUTION: The electrode having a coating film is exposed to a sawtooth cleaning electrical pulse, which has -1.5 V initial voltage, reaches 0 V at 1 V/sea rate and is rapidly returned to -4.5 V. The electrode is standardized by repeating the cycle sufficiently to remove the coating film. The voltage is preferably changed by repeating the cycle 20-60 times corresponding to the kinds of the coating film.
