PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a capacitance value range of a detection electrode by applying the partial voltage of a developing bias voltage on a pair of comb-type or spiral electrodes so that a distance between the detection electrodes may be shortened, and to attain the highly accurate display of the remaining developer quantity which is desirable for a user. SOLUTION: The developing device is provided with a developing bias dividing means 104 for dividing the developing bias voltage in a remaining developer quantity detecting circuit 100, the partial developing bias voltage divided by the developing bias dividing means 104 is applied on the 1st electrode 23 of a measuring electrode means 20A. The quantity of the developer remaining in a developer container 11A is calculated based on an electrical signal corresponding to the electrostatic capacitance between the 1st electrode 23 and the 2nd electrode 24. |
