<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow this device to be stably operated as an input device by preventing the occurrence of unneeded data caused by dust stuck to an optical path, etc., when not used by covering a coordinate/detection area with covers. SOLUTION: A coordinate input/detection area 91 is covered with two covers 92 and 93 whose one sides are turnably fixed by a hinge, covered by sliding the covers 92 and 93 or covered in a structure in which the covers are rolled up around a shaft to be housed in the case of using soft covers or in a structure where the covers are folded and housed. In such cases, when gaps among peripheral members are made narrow while covers 92 and 93 are closed, a malfunction and erroneous detection caused by dust entering through the gaps and stuck to a reflection member, a light emitting member, an input/detection plane and a light receiving member are protected in this state. An input/detection member can also be protected from unexpected impact.</p> |
