PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the quality control to be performed and make it possible to grasp the lifetime of a panel by measuring an accumulated irradiation dose from a measured value of a physical characteristics of stimulable phosphors which are contained in a section at the ends of a phosphor layer and where the value of a physical characteristic varies according to irradiation doses. SOLUTION: A diagonally shaded area (hereinafter shaded area) 2 at an edge in a stimulable phosphor layer of a radiation image conversion panel (hereinafter panel) 1 in a figure contains stimulable phosphors whose value of their physical characteristics can vary according to irradiation doses. An area other than the shaded area 2 contains stimulable phosphors for a radiation image conversion panel as in conventional ways. In the measurement of an accumulated irradiation dose, a calibration curve to be inspected is prepared beforehand for the difference between the shaded area 2 of the panel 1 and the area other than it in stimulable luminous amount and accumulated irradiation dose. Stimulable luminous amounts are measured by irradiating the panel 1 with radiation, scanning excitation light in the direction of the arrow in the figure and reading out data with a reader. For a panel used for a certain period, then, an accumulated irradiation dose can be calculated if the difference in stimulable luminous amount is found in the same way and its result is assigned to a calibration curve to be inspected.
|
