PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To do not limit application to a plane display device by constituting a substrate on which a first electrode for interposing a luminescent layer having at least an organic electroluminescent compound as the main component together with a second electrode is formed with a polymer material through which visible light wave length is transmitted, and making a device flexible. SOLUTION: An anode electrode 2 made of transparent indium oxide or gold is formed in a stripe pattern in the specified direction on a flexible, transparent substrate 1 made of a film having specified thickness, such as polycarbonate film or polyethylene film. A hole injection layer 3, a hole transport layer 4, a luminescent layer 5, and an electron transport layer 6 are stacked in the specified region on the anode electrode 2, and a cathode electrode 7 is formed in a stripe pattern in the perpendicular direction to the anode electrode 2. Since an element has flexibility, deformation in a specified shape such as a cylindrical shape is made possible. At least one cathode electrode 7 of the electrodes is preferable to be constituted with a polymer conductive material such as polyacetylene or polyparaphenylene, flexibility is furthermore increased, deterioration caused by rust is prevented, and a thin size is realized. |
