PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely leave a margin at the leading edge of sheet material in the case of copying a book or a clipped original and to prevent winding jamming caused by the adhesion of toner to the leading edge of the sheet material by switching a clutch means from a cut state to a connected state in earlier timing when an opening/closing member is in an opened state than when it is in a closed state. SOLUTION: This image forming device is provided with the opening/closing member 1001 which can be opened/closed with respect to an original placing part 1002, a transfer means 101 transferring a toner image formed on an image carrier in accordance with the image of the original placed on the original placing part to the sheet material, a carrying means 113 carrying the sheet material to the transfer means, and the clutch means 120 connecting and disconnecting the transmission of driving force to the carrying means. Then, the device is provided with an opening/closing detection means 1003 detecting the opened/closed state of the opening/closing member and a control circuit controlling the clutch means 120 according to the detected state by the opening/ closing detection means. |
