PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To receive image data even if overflow of an image memory occurs by allowing a control means to transmit a procedural signal for indicating image quality deficiency to a transmission side when the overflow of an image storage means occurs during reception of the image data or when received image data stored in the image storage means reaches a prescribed amount. SOLUTION: When overflow of an image memory 18 occurs, relating to facsimile equipment 1 as communication terminal equipment, an RTN signal is transmitted as a procedural signal for indicating image quality deficiency. Because of this, image data after a page that the overflow occurs are transmitted again from a device on a transmission side an the image data are recorded on a recording paper by a recording part 15. In other words, when the overflow of the image memory 18 occurs, print reception is switched to memory reception. Therefore, even if the overflow of the image memory 18 occurs, the image data can be received.
