摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor using X type metal- free phthalocyanine known as a general-purpose low-cost material as an electric charge generating material, having practically sufficient sensitivity and excellent in the stability of electrostatic characteristics even in repetitive use. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic photoreceptor 1a has an undercoat layer 3 containing dendritic or acicular titanium dioxide on the electrically conductive substrate 2 and a photosensitive layer 4 containing X type metal-free phthalocyanine and a disazo compound of the formula Cp-N=N-D-N=N-Cp (where D is an aromatic hydrocarbon-containing divalent group or a heterocycle- containing divalent group and Cp is a coupling residue) as electric charge generating materials on the undercoat layer 3. The titanium dioxide is preferably coated with a metal oxide or an organic compound and the undercoat layer 3 further contains an alcohol-soluble polyamide resin. The photosensitive layer 4 preferably has a laminated structure comprising an electric charge generating layer 7 and an electric charge transferring layer 8.
