PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid fuel burner wherein the velocity of a flame in the axial direction is high, and moreover a flame of high temperature can be obtained and convection heat transfer efficiency is high. SOLUTION: In the liquid fuel burner wherein a fuel atomizer 14, which atomizes a liquid fuel to blow it off, is provided at the center of a cylindrical combustion chamber 11 with bottom, and a primary combustion supporting gas nozzle 15 to blow off a primary combustion supporting gas around the outer periphery of the atomizer 14 in a swirling form is provided, a conical part 12 is formed on the base side of the chamber, 11, while a cylindrical part 13 is formed on the forward end side thereof, and a secondary combustion supporting nozzle 16 comprising a plurality of holes or slits to blow off a secondary combustion supporting gas in the axial direction of the burner is provided.
