Pyrimido[4,5-b]indoles of formula (IV) wherein R1-1 and R1-2 are taken together with the attached nitrogen atom to form a heterocyclic ring selected from the group consisting of 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1piperidinyl and 4-morpholinyl; where R2-1 and R2-2 are taken together with the attached nitrogen atom to form a heterocyclic ring selected from the group consisting of 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1piperidinyl and 4-morpholinyl with the proviso that the heterocyclic ring of R1-1 /R1-2 is the same as that of R2-1/R2-2; n1 is 1 thru 3; R3-1 is H or C1-C3 alkyl, R3-2 is H, CH2[2-pyridinyl], CH2[3-pyridinyl], CH2[4-pyridinyl], CH2[CH(OH)]4CH2OH, CH2-COOH, OH, CH2CH2CH2CH2OH, CH2-CH2-CH2-CO-OH and R3-1 and R3-2 are taken together with the attached nitrogen atom to form a heterocyclic ring selected from the group consisting of 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1-piperidinyl, 4-morpholinyl, 2-hydroxy- 1-pyrrolidinyl, 3-hydroxy- 1-pyrrolidinyl, 1-prolinyl and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. The above mentioned compounds are useful in treating a range of respiratory disorders. |
