Packaging procedure and machine e.g. for wrapping thin chocolate articles in foil

The procedure consists of passing the wrapping material (1) from a roll (2) over a support with a system of discs which folds the material along a lengthwise central line. The material is then cut into sections of the appropriate size by a blade (13), the sections being fed by a conveyor (14) to a shaping unit where they are pressed into the required shape to receive one of the articles being wrapped. The articles are then inserted into the shaped sections of wrapping material, with surplus material beimng folded over the surface of the articles to finish off the wrapping.
