PURPOSE: A food composition of which bulk density is equal to or lower than a predetermined value is prepared for the application as an excipient for oral administration of medicines, nutrients or the like by blending polymeric foaming agent, a non-cellulose-based polysaccharide and a solvent etc., and then forming a foaming dispersion from the mixture and drying the dispersion. CONSTITUTION: The food composition of which bulk density is less than 0.40 g/cm¬3 is obtained by mixing a foaming agent (a) such as a protein (hydrolyzed product) and a cellulose derivative; a non-cellulose-based polysaccharide (b) such as agar; a solvent such as deionized water; and an effective medicinal ingredient which may be contained if needed, forming a foam dispersion and drying the foam dispersion. The weight ratio of a/b is preferably in the range of (9-20)/1. |
