PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium provided with visible information without decreasing the optical recording region. SOLUTION: The optical recording medium has a substrate having tracking grooves to optically record and reproduce on the surface, and has an optical recording layer covering a specified region of the substrate surface where pits are recorded by irradiation of laser light. The specified region includes a data recording region 10 and a non-data recording region 11, and the non-data recording region 11 has visible information which can be visually checked. The visible information is composed of visible information pits recorded in the optical recording layer on the lands in a plurality of grooves of the substrate. The visible information pits are formed in the center of each land between a plurality of grooves of the substrate. |
