PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong a dehumidifying time if a cooling sensible heat load is low and to reduce a humidity by altering a default value for switching a cooling operation and a dehumidifying operation according to an atmospheric temperature detected by an outdoor temperature detecting means provided in an outdoor unit. SOLUTION: A signal receiver circuit 62 receives an atmospheric temperature signal from an outdoor unit 2, and sends the signal to an operation mode deciding circuit 42. A differential temperatureΔt between an indoor temperature Tr sensed by a suction temperature sensor 26 and a user set temperature Ts is calculated. If the differential temperature is decided to be larger than T1 (e.g. 25 deg.C), a differential temperature Tk for switching the cooling operation and the dehumidifying operation is set to T2 (e.g. 2 deg.C). If the atmosphere temperature Tg is decided to be lower than the T1, the temperature Tk is set to T3 (e.g. 4.0 deg.C). The temperatureΔt is composed with the Tk. If theΔt is higher than the Tk, the operation mode is set to a cooling operation, or if the t is lower than the Tk, the mode is set to the dehumidifying operation.
