SHORT PIPE INSERTING AND FITTING METHOD IN SHORT JOINT PIPE AND SHORT JOINT PIPE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold a tightly fitting condition of the outer surface of a short pipe and an inner wall surface of an inserting and fitting hole by forming a short pipe inserting and fitting hole of a joint structure body on a tapered hole, arranging an enlarged tapered surface on the tip end part of the inserting and fitting hole, and forcibly pressing the short pipe into the inserting and fitting hole. SOLUTION: A flange body A fitted to a fastening flange formed on a piping pit as a joint structure body is mounted on one end of a short pipe main body 1, and a pipe joint for a water main pipe is mounted on the other end of the short pipe main body 1. In the short pipe main body 1, a part of an inserting part 12 of an inserting and fitting hole is forcibly compressed, and is forcibly pressed into an inserting and fitting hole 2 of the flange body A. An inserting tip of the short pipe is forcibly enlarged corresponding to the enlarged tapered surface 3 of the tip end part of the inserting and fitting hole. By restoring force of the short pipe, an outer surface of the short pipe is brought into press contact with an inner wall surface of the inserting and fitting hole 2 and is fixed thereto. A water leaking preventing member 41 fitted to a fitting groove is brought into press contact, an enlarged part 11 of the tip end of the short pipe is tightly fitted to the enlarged tapered surface 3 of the inserting and fitting hole 2. It is thus possible to hold a tightly fitting condition by restoring force of the short pipe.
