摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deterioration of a material, prevent lowering of the life, and improve UV radiation by providing a light emitting tube having mercury and rare gas sealed therein, a protecting tube storing the light emitting tube in its inside, and oxygen absorbent arranged inside the protecting tube, and by suppressing ozone generation in the protecting tube. SOLUTION: A light emitting tube 1 is stored in a protecting tube 2 and the other end of a cable 3 connected to an electrode of the light emitting tube 1 penetrates a cable protecting tube 4 and is connected to a power feeder 5. The end face of the cable protecting tube 4 is closed and the inside of the protecting tube 2 is cut off from the outside air. All the oxygen inside the protecting tube 2 is absorbed and fixed by oxygen absorbent 6 so that the protecting tube 2 inside is in an approximately 100% nitrogen state. If UV of wavelength 185 nm is emitted from the light emitting tube 1, ozone is not generated so that the UV of the wavelength 254 nm is not absorbed by the ozone, to improve the disinfection performance. The material is not deteriorated by the oxidizability of the ozone. Preferably, ozone absorbent is used in substitute for the oxygen absorbent.
