PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uneven drying by preventing stagnation in the progress of the drying on any part of a coated film on an effective screen of a color cathode-ray tube, an adverse effect on the quality of the color cathode-ray tube by preventing a panel temperature change, and the increase of the size of a drying device, and the cost. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method is for drying a coated film 12 applied on an inner surface of a panel 11 of a color cathode-ray tube. An air spray means 16 sprays are 17 on the inner surface of the panel 11 to dry the coated film 12. The angleθbetween the axis of the air spray means 16 and an opening surface 11a of the panel 11 is set from 45 deg.C to 90 deg.C. Thus, most of the air 17 from the air spraying mean 16 is directly applied on the inner surface of the panel 11, thereby drying without a stagnation.
