PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly carry paper, whether it is plain paper or thick paper, to a fixing device. SOLUTION: In a fixing device which is disposed in a downstream area of an electrophotographic device in the direction where recording paper is carried, guides the carried recording paper with an unfixed toner imager thereon by a guide member and melts and fixes the unfixed toner image to the surface of the recording paper under heat by a pressure roller 19 and a heat roller 18, the recording-paper guide member is provided with a turning fulcrum 25 and an angle at which the recording paper is guided to a nip between both the rollers is altered according to the type of the recording paper being carried.
