PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a butterfly valve having a metal sheet, capable of inexpensively reducing the wear of a sheet ring and its opening/closing torque by a simple shape/structure. SOLUTION: In a butterfly valve having a sheet ring, wherein a metal sheet ring part 23 brought into contact with the valve element 21 of an eccentric type butterfly valve having the metal sheet is formed in a loop shape, and an outer side not brought into contact with the valve element 21 is formed in a flat plate shape 23b, and attached and held in a valve body 24, the flat plate part 23b of the outer side not in contact with the valve element 21 is installed in a position farther from a valve rod 22 more than a contact between the valve element 21 and the sheet ring 23, one or a plurality of doughnut-like flat plates 27 are stacked and installed to be in contact with the flat plate part 23b of the outer side of the sheet ring not brought into contact with the valve element 21, and the backup function of the sheet ring is provided.
