PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent gas generation in a capacitor by superposing aluminum chips of which capacity per unit area has more than double capacity peculiar to a cathode foil with the chips electrically connected to the cathode tab terminal on the surface of the cathode tab terminal. SOLUTION: Aluminum foil chips 6 of which capacity per unit area have more than 0.3 times capacity of that of a cathode foil are superposed with the chips electrically connected to the cathode tab terminal 22 on the cathode tab terminal 22 in an aluminum electrolytic capacitor. That is, the aluminum chips 6 are superposed on all over the cathode tab terminal 22, and in this state, the aluminum chips 6 together with the cathode tab terminal 22 are caulked 5 to be electrically connected to a cathode foil 27 in the lump. The aluminum foil chips 6 used for the cathode foil 27 with its width wider than the cathode tab terminal 22 and approximately the same as the width of the cathode foil 27 are used.
