PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of manufacturing a large amount of magnetic discs including a software information signal at a low cost, a commutative magnetic disc medium using the same disc and a magnetic disc drive. SOLUTION: A software information signal is transferred and recorded to a magnetic disc 10a by placing in contact the surface where a ferromagnetic thin film 22 of a master information carrier 20 on the surface of a magnetic disc 10a on the surface of the magnetic disc 10a having a magnetic recording layer 15a on the non-magnetic substrate and then magnetizing the ferromagnetic thin film 22 in one direction. On the surface of the master information carrier 20, a pattern layout corresponding to the software is formed on the ferromagnetic thin film 22.
