PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a home security system which can make an at-hand contact with a guard monitoring center and eliminate the wrong information that is caused when the mode is switched to an at-home warning state. SOLUTION: In this home security system 11 where the guard signal sent from a warning device main body 20 which is installed in a home is transmitted to a guard monitoring center 10 via a telephone circuit 9, a portable operating unit 30 using a battery 31 is connected to the main body 20 via a radio communication line. Then an operation mode is switched at an optional place and the center 10 is called via a calling device 36. Furthermore, a not-at-home warning state can be set by a key switch 42 of a charger 40 only when the unit 30 is set at the charger 40 and the battery 31 is charged.
