PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor and an external storage device or the like which reduce the number of signal lines used for transmission of serial data, when transmitting data with a serial signal. SOLUTION: A CLK line 31, a control line 32, and a DT line 33 are provided between a data processor 10 and a memory card 20. Data and commands are transmitted bidirectionally through the DT line 33 with serial signals. A synchronizing signal is transmitted to the CLK line 31. A control signal is supplied from the data processing 10 to the memory card 20 through the control line 32. During the period when the control signal is high, data or commands are transmitted to the DT line 33. In the period when the control signal is low, a status signal from the memory card 20 is supplied to the DT line. |
