INFORMATION PROCESSOR AND METHOD FOR MANAGING IT

PURPOSE: To improve the convenience of a data interface system in terms of visually grasping a device existing on a data bus by providing a display control means for executing display control so as to display-output retrieved character information as information for specifying each information processor supposed to presently exist on a data bus. CONSTITUTION: An AV system is constructed by connecting a personal computer 113 and three audio devices shown as device #1 to a device #3 through an IEEE1394 bus 116 in a mutually communicable manner. Then, the personal computer 13 has a function (application software) capable of batch-managing/ controlling the devices connected to the IEEE1394 bus. As one of managing/ controlling function like this, a display function for presenting the devices presently connected to the IEEE1394 bus is provided.
