SEMICONDUCTOR LASER SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A semiconductor laser system is provided to improve the capacity of heat-sink in a semiconductor laser system having a stem by forming the stem as thin metal plates. CONSTITUTION: A ring-shaped wall portion is formed at a base(1) by performing a press process for a thin metal plate to form a stem with the thin metal plate. An outer lead(4) is arranged in a space formed within the ring-shaped wall portion. The outer lead(4) is fixed by an insulating resin. An adhering portion(3) for adhering a silicon sub mount(7) to the base(1) is formed with the base(1). The strength of the thin metal stem is compensated by forming continuous walls.
