DIGITAL VIDEO DECODING METHOD

PURPOSE: A digital video decoding method is provided to realize seamless presentation of multiple scenes by using only a decoder section without resorting to an encoder section. CONSTITUTION: In a method for decoding a digital video, every time scenes should be joined, a read rate for a data storage medium(12) is controlled by reference to a buffer(15) occupancy level such that data is stored in the buffer(15) to a predetermined level or more when the first frame of each scene starts being decoded. By using the digital video decoding method, the seamless presentation of multiple scenes is realized by using only the decoder section without using the encoder section.
