PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic ticket examination device, corresponding to a plurality of tickets which automatically detects the number of train tickets, reliably separates a plurality of train tickets with a separation mechanism and prevents an unusable ticket from being carried to a backward carrying path. SOLUTION: This automatic ticket examination machine has a fetching part 21 for fetching one or a plurality of train tickets from an insertion slot by using a carrying part 53, thickness detection sensors 43, 45 and 47 deciding whether train tickets are plural or not, separation mechanisms 61, 63, 65 and 67 separate train tickets one by one and carrying the tickets backward path, when a control part decides that the train tickets are plural in accordance with the sensors, and a processing part which reads the train tickets and performs ticket checking and collecting operations of the train tickets and the passenger according with respect to the content read.
